UNDERSTANDING SUNLIGHT

First thing to know and not least: in the high mountains the sun can be very violent for your skin. Indeed, even when wearing your masks and balaclavas, the reverberation of the rays on the snow can reach up to 90%. The closer you are to the sun, the greater the risk of sunburn. It's math! The UV index also increases by almost 10% for every 1000m. Now, do you understand better this famous tanned complexion of the ESF teachers?

Also, the deceitful cold anesthetizing the tissues and the sensations, so it is very difficult to realize that you are burning in the mountains. Hop, a sunburn can appear in just a few minutes, even when the weather is overcast. Vigilance is therefore required at every turn, in the face of the resurgence of new cancers each year (80,000 cases are recorded on average).

DEFINE YOUR PHOTOTYPE

Each skin corresponds to a phototype , that is to say has a type of skin characterized by its color and its reactivity to the sun. Will you be able to recognize your profile in the following ranking?

- Phototypes I and II are very fair skin that does not tan or very little with blond or even very light brown hair
- Phototype III is characteristic of people with brown hair and light skin that tans gradually
- Phototypes IV, V and VI are skins that tan easily, often with dark hair

The weaker your phototype, the more your skin must be protected. It is recommended for phototypes I and II to adopt a sun care SPF (meaning protection factor) type 50, constantly. Also, this level of protection is ideal for all skin types, children and adults alike, in high-risk areas such as the mountains where the sun is particularly dangerous.

For you, Miss Agathe has developed an organic sunscreen that effectively protects your skin from the UVA/UVB sun. Don't forget any corner, even a millimeter of skin can be fatal to you.

Remember to protect your lips too! They dry out and become fragile even faster than the skin when they are exposed to the cold and the sun. Moreover, Miss Agathe had a hollow nose when creating her lip balm. Loaded with snail slime combined with sunflower and castor seed oils, it repairs fragile, chapped and damaged areas.

Also keep in mind that some hours are more fateful than others... For example, the 12 p.m.-4 p.m. slot condenses the strongest radiation. For memo: we don't skimp on the cream and we also equip ourselves with good sunglasses!

Back from the slopes, we think of hydrating and applying a rich care for the skin which has been well assaulted by the cold. RESPONDING TO SUNBURN

Did you forget to apply our good advice? In the event of sunburn, the first reflex to adopt is to stop exposure. In this type of situation, the skin, in addition to being burned, is largely dehydrated. It is therefore necessary to drink to water the tissues.

In the event of slight redness, corresponding to a superficial burn, you simply need to apply a soothing after-sun cream daily, until the redness disappears. If blisters appear on the skin - especially not to pierce -, it is however imperative to consult a doctor as soon as possible.

But if you apply all our advice to the letter, you can enjoy the joys of snow without any worries!
