Let's support French agriculture together
In France, we are fortunate to have women and men who produce some of the finest agriculture in the world every day. Without them, there would be no food, and no natural cosmetics either. We also wish to reiterate here that without livestock farming, there can be no healthy, cyclical agriculture.
Re-establishing the link between agriculture, livestock farming and cosmetics
At Mademoiselle Agathe, we are committed to promoting organic farming by optimizing the use of all farm products that are beneficial for the skin. Our goal is to foster animal welfare and highlight the crucial role of livestock farming in a circular and extensive agricultural system.
The 5 main reasons for our commitment
1
Defending a living agriculture
You can't be organic without livestock farming. Manure, compost, crop rotation, and biodiversity all depend on the presence of animals on our farms. Livestock farming is at the heart of the virtuous cycle of mixed farming. Trying to be vegan when you make organic cosmetics is like trying to be environmentally friendly without nuclear power... An idealistic illusion in the face of the complexity of reality.
2
Promoting the role of women in the agricultural world
In 1980, France had over a million farmers. Today, there are fewer than 400,000… nearly a third of whom are women. These women are the future of our agriculture. They raise livestock, cultivate crops, feed the people, and sustain our rural communities. In our countryside, they are the quiet strength of agriculture.
3
Giving meaning back to natural and organic cosmetics
Many cosmetic brands claim to be “organic” while importing exotic ingredients, grown far away, to replace animal-derived ingredients that are actually much more effective for the skin. We prefer local ingredients, sourced from sustainable agriculture that respects animals, the land, and our farmers.
4
Preserving our local areas and our know-how
Every farmer embodies a part of our living heritage. Supporting French agriculture means preserving the quality, traceability, and authenticity of our raw materials produced in France according to the highest environmental standards and requirements in the world.
5
Supporting local values, traditions and tourism
Supporting agriculture also means preserving a way of life. Behind every farm lies a story, traditional skills, and landscapes shaped by generations. These traditions enrich our regions and nurture authentic, human-scale tourism. Choosing ingredients from our farms means supporting local culture and the local economy.
It's also for...
To better explain the role of livestock farming in agriculture
Extensive livestock farming plays a key role in the vitality of our rural areas. It preserves open habitats – meadows, hedgerows, and woodlands – protects soils and water resources by limiting erosion and runoff, and naturally fertilizes the land without the use of chemicals, thus closing the cycles of life. It maintains biodiversity (earthworms, fungi, beneficial insects, hedgehogs, etc.) and makes use of less arable land, all while preserving the beauty and richness of our rural landscapes.
Highlighting the finest ingredients in our cosmetics
Is it really reasonable to use plant-based keratin (phytokeratin) produced from Brazilian soy across all natural care ranges, when one of the best ingredients for shampoos is wool keratin, produced here by farmers who raise their sheep in meadows that preserve our biodiversity?
Proud to be a partner of a competition that promotes the agricultural world
It is with immense pleasure that we partner with the Miss and Mister Agriculture competition. This competition allows the general public to discover the faces of agriculture. Social media offers unparalleled visibility for better understanding how it works… And above all, it conveys a positive image of the men and women who keep our rural areas thriving.
Your plate, and incidentally your cosmetics, shape the world you live in… Let’s all support French agriculture in our own way.
In conclusion
The real stars are our female farmers — those who keep our land alive and produce the best agriculture in the world!
At Mademoiselle Agathe's, they want to pay tribute to them.
Because before our cosmetics, before our natural ingredients, there are them: 👉 Those who cultivate, raise, care and innovate every day to nourish the earth and our lives.
